About Me
I’m a digital media leader with 15 years of experience in journalism, marketing, and strategy across publishers, brands, and technology companies. You’re probably here because you watched my TED talk about how messed up the advertising industry is, or you saw me tweet about raccoons.
I started out as a journalist covering emerging digital media for CNET in 2006, ranging from the expansion of Facebook beyond college campuses to the role of social media in political revolutions around the world. I also spent two years working for Google in a role that combined content, experiential, and product marketing. I now work for true[X], the groundbreaking advertising company that was acquired by 21st Century Fox in 2015.
I’ve appeared as a commentator on technology issues on NBC’s “Today,” CBS’ “The Early Show,” NPR’s “Talk of the Nation” and “On The Media,” MSNBC, Fox Business, and more. I was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Media in 2012.
In addition to my TED talk at the Residency Salon in May 2018, I’ve spoken at SXSW; Summit Series; Social Media Week events in New York, São Paulo, and Barcelona; The Conference in Malmö, Sweden; and more. I’m also currently the tech and media columnist for The Spectator USA.
